ePortfolio Entry: using Google Sites students are to reflect on their learning, 2-3 entries per week, suggestions shared in spreadsheet will grow as the year goes on

LANGUAGE/SOCIAL STUDIES: as partners, students will select a local issue that concerns them, begin research and plan a Public Service Announcement to share in our class community. 
NOTE: Does your PSA convince the viewer to make a change locally? (peer feedback after first draft of iMovie)


MATH: Fractions, fractions and more fun with benchmark fractions 
Comparing & ordering fractions using pictures & number lines (Check this out: Equivalent Fractions
Practice on your multiplication tables and have fun! (Check out: Math is Fun  or Times Tables Games)

DRAMA:
- Shadow Performances: This week each student will brainstorm 2 potential story line ideas for a 3 minute performance; then, as a team narrow down to their top ideas with a short synopsis of the story in Google Docs
- Create shadow images along the wall using your body (movement or tableau) to convey a message. 
- SOON: co-writing scripts for Shadow Performances (Google Classroom)
- Note: performances will be held throughout the day on October 31st in our classroom. Parents are welcome to join us while classes visit (volunteers will be needed too).

SCIENCE: Rocks & Minerals  (Google Classroom)

‘Big Ideas’:
- Rocks and minerals have unique characteristics and properties that are a result of how they were formed.
- The properties of rocks and minerals determine society’s possible uses for them.
- Our use of rocks and minerals affects the environment.
How might rock and mineral extraction impact the local communities and the environment?




I am very excited to share that Coding in the class has been launched. You will continue to apply your computational thinking skills through code and design a game. All you need to bring with you is an open mind, a headset and a positive attitude :)
